Peoples Trust Company and Peoples Bank of Canada are each members of the Canada Deposit Insurance Corporation (CDIC). To increase your potential coverage, you may want to keep accounts at both Peoples Bank and Peoples Trust.
CDIC is a federal Crown corporation established by the Government of Canada to protect deposits at member financial institutions in the rare event of failure. CDIC is not a bank or a private insurance company, but rather is funded by premiums paid by member institutions.
